Almost Easter

Since General Conference is on Easter Sunday, we had our Easter program at church yesterday. And we also wore our Easter outfits! Here are some photos from the brief photo shoot we managed to have after church and no morning nap.

Climber

Last week, Olivia's friend Addie came over. She's only one day older, but she has always been quite a bit more mobile.

She taught Olivia a few tricks.

And now we have a climber on our hands.
Heaven help us all!

Any thoughts on where I can get a baby gate to fit the uneven entrance to the stairway? Or how to rig one so it fits?

Gold in the Junk Mail

I know what you're thinking, and no I didn't win the sweepstakes. But Olivia feels like she struck gold every time we get the mail. This kept her entertained for a solid hour yesterday. And I don't think she even ate any of it this time! :)

As a side note, the daffodils and hyacinth that I planted in the fall bloomed! It's like magic! Unfortunately, it appears that the squirrels ate all my tulips because I don't see a single one. But I'm so thrilled about the daffies that I don't even mind. Much.

Little Leprechaun

Olivia got a hold of a green cupcake (which, for the record, was in no way intended for her) on the way home from playgroup today. We're so happy to have our own little leprechaun who wears green, makes mischief and funny noises, and leads us to our greatest treasure.

Dinner Time Sillies

Olivia loves dinner time, but sometimes she gets the sillies.

Crawlie Olli

Proof that she's crawling, folks!

Jury Summons

Hi all! I have decided to grace this blog with my presence again. I am currently in the Baltimore County Court House awaiting the jury selection process for the first time. Pretty cool that there is WiFi, huh? We shall see if I get selected or not. I'm sure it won't be as exciting as Runaway Jury or a Civil Action. As soon as I hear any of the trial (assuming I get selected) I cannot communicate any of it to anyone outside the courtroom so my lips are sealed as of right now!

I'm a Guest!

My friend Emily who I met on a study abroad in London many many moons ago asked me to be a guest blogger on her blog for a series she is doing on The Family: A Proclamation to the World. My post shares some of my feelings about becoming a mom, and you can find it here.

While you're there, check out some of her other posts. She's a fantastic person and a great blogger.

One quick share...one of my memories about Emily is that while we were in London, she shared one of her goals with me. It was to not spend her own money on anything that was bad for her. For example, if someone gave her chocolate, she could have it, but she couldn't buy it for herself. It must have been a very impressive goal to someone who spent every spare pound on the cadbury machine in the tube, because it has stuck with me all these years.

Roll

Last week, Olivia and I were playing a game we like called "roll the ball" where we, well, roll the ball back and forth. There's a little song that goes with it..."roll the ball, roll the ball, roll the ball to Livi, roll it back, roll it back, roll it back to me". We had been playing for several minutes when she picked up the ball to roll it back to me, looked me in the eyes, and distinctly said "roh". I guess it is an appropriate first word (besides mama and dada of course) for a girl whose preferred method of transportation is still rolling (even though today she crawled on her hands and knees with her belly off the floor like a big girl). So proud of my baby!

Ocean City, I'm ready!

The sun is shining, the grass is green, and although we don't have any orange or palm trees, it's starting to feel like spring! Olivia is so excited about it that she just had to have the world's cutest swimming suit. She's jumping the gun, and getting ready for summer. And looks so good doing it!

Help a Cousin Out!

This is my cousin, Emily.

She said "yes" to Joey.

They want a dream wedding.
If you have two minutes and you're feeling generous, help that dream come true by voting for them here.

Gracias.

Nine Months

It is hard to believe that Olivia has been in our family as long as she was in my belly (although, not quite, since she was born nine days late). It seems like the past nine months have flown by, and I can say with certainty that my pregnancy with her did not. She has been such a joy in my life. She is an amazing little person, so sweet, has so much personality, and is my best buddy. Here are some of her best tricks at 9 months.

*She can roll herself from being flat on her back to a sitting position.
*She says "mama" and "dada".
*She can feed herself crackers (and it's pretty much the cutest thing you've ever seen).
*She can chew food (like crackers) even though she doesn't yet have any teeth.
*She remembered how to sleep through the night (hallelujah!)
*She loves bananas, and begs for them by grunting whenever she sees one.
*She love to chew on anything she can get her hands on.
*She LOVES her daddy.
*She loves music and dancing.
*She can finally crawl!! (Scoot, actually, and she started Sunday...it's still just here and there, but I'm sure that will change in the very near future.)

Here are a few of her 9-month pics that didn't make the side bar, but sure are cute. She didn't want to sit still on her bouncy seat, and was bouncing, kicking, and sitting up on the seat the whole time. Also, check out the side bar for updated stats. :)

Happy nine months mi dulce nena.
