Nesting

I have been nesting like CRAZY! In the past week, I basically started and finished the nursery (only a couple of minor things left, but it is fully functional), cleaned and organized the entire house, STOCKED up on food, and started prepping freezer meals. It is so fun to check things off my list! Olivia has been very sweet and patient as I have dragged her along on all my outings. As of today, I am full term, dilated to a 2, and my doctor says she doesn't think I'll still be pregnant for Christmas. Of course, with my history (Olivia was born 9 days late, and I was induced) I am having trouble believing that. BUT, if she does decide to make an early appearance, we will be ready for her! Here are a few photos of the nursery (Olivia's toddler bed is in there as well. She is still in the crib in her room, and once she's ready for a bed, they'll either share, or switch rooms.)Changing table, dresser, glider, made the pillow and the valance. (and made the wall hangings and painted the dresser...but if you've been reading, you already know that.) :)

Owl mobile (my friend Michelle made this for me...LOVE it!), and Owl lighting (I "made" the owl lantern...or, made the lantern into an owl.)

Toddler bed. I made the owl pillow, and the quilt was made by my mom for Olivia when she was born.

White mini-crib. I made the bumpers and the crib skirt. :)

I still want to add a small bookshelf in front of all those cords you see to the right of the crib. But clothes are washed and folded in the dresser or hung in the closet, diapers and wipes have been purchased, and I think we're set!

Happy go to Nursery

My big girl started nursery today. And with #2 coming any time, it's not a moment too soon. Liv LOVED it. If she had the vocabulary, she would have said, "there's a room with TOYS!? You've been holding out on me!" We stayed with her for the first hour, and then left. There were no tears, no fights, and she apparently sat quietly for the lesson. It would be nice if she acted that way during FHE! Regardless, I am so proud of my girl, and I can't believe how grown up she is!

Newbies

This week has been quite eventful in our family. We have had TWO new additions! On Monday, my sister Diana gave birth to sweet little David Lev. Wednesday, as David and Diana went home from the hospital, Maria gave birth to precious Elise Jane. Both look just like their daddies and I can't wait to meet them both! We will see David (NYC) next week for Thanksgiving, but we have to wait to see Elise (SoCal) until March when we head out there for a family wedding. Congrats to my sisters & bro's in law. So much love!

Little Project

I picked up this dresser on Craigslist for $20, primed it with spray paint, painted it with white enamel, and sprayed the knobs with pink high gloss spray paint. It's for the new baby's room, and I might be in love with it. I can't wait to get that room put together!

Cover Snatcher

No one likes a cover stealer, but I have inadvertently become one. It must be due to my incessant tossing and turning, thanks to my enlarged abdomen. Last night when I woke up to use the bathroom (for the second time) I looked across the great divide of our bed (my necessary body pillow) to see my husband completely without sheets or blankets. It was a chilly night, too! Poor guy. Thankfully, when I mentioned it in the morning, he had no recollection of the incident.

Halloween Bugs!

We enjoyed lots of fun Halloween Festivities this year! I LOVE Halloween, and it was so fun to see Olivia enjoy it too. On Thursday we attended a playgroup Halloween party, hosted by my friend Regina. It was lots of fun to get the kiddos together all dressed up. Then on Saturday, we went to The Avenue (a local set of nice shops and restaurants) for trick-or-treating. It was packed, but Olivia caught on right away that they were giving out treats!



Saturday evening was the ward Trunk-or-Treat, which was tons of fun! The unborn and unnamed baby donned her very first Halloween costume! Since Olivia was a ladybug, we went with the bug theme this year. Baby was a little caterpillar, in her cocoon, of course!

Inside now, not so washed out. I was a butterfly, and Jon was a spider if you can't tell. I was mistaken for a pregnant fairy, and he was mistaken for a "night stalker", so maybe our costumes needed a little work...oh well. ;)
I don't have any pictures, but Sunday evening, I made "dinner in a pumpkin" and we had a few friends over to share our meal and family home evening. We were only interrupted by a couple hundred trick-or-treaters! :) We had a great time, and it was a bang of a way to end the fantastic month of October!

Bring it on, November! Christmas shopping, I'm all over you!
